Androids in the Anthrocene...
The humanoids have set the scene
and left androids in the anthrocene
Flesh replaced with latex things
Lifetimes given to life-like beings
Planted plastic plants to teraform the decor
Traded sunlight for synthetic calor & allure
and sugar-soaked all flavors a pretend-pure
Alienated life from what nature could restore
They alienated each other too
Hearts beating as one were ripped in two
then shattered by temptations old and new
Love: the word 'botoxic'-lips butchered & slew
Their own purpose in life, it slowly fled
as work made them long to stay in bed
without dreams remaining within their head
To rest in peace seemed much less dead
Then they watched the mirror look away
as their own soul could not be made to stay
and hope was lost as a dizzy & rabid stray
No stars could guide under a sky so gray
All the aliens are so gone
No alienation is left to long
for anything to put to song
or contemplate as right or wrong
Only androids now carry-on
all computing, all withdrawn
Lifeless here is the scene
of Androids in the anthrocene
What does any of it mean
with nothing left of all that's been?
See the obscene become unseen
by androids in the anthrocene
Here precluding all that now
Witness all these things die-out
Terrified to death at how
none of it can quite amount
to anything to be all about
None of it beyond abysmal doubt
Hear the numbing silence shout
None of it without us dreams
It's only shadows upon the scenes
of androids in the anthrocene
