A Blaze Against The Dark...
Going backwards is the world
Undoing what's been done
As sky and ocean churns and swirls
on land we quake and run
Mind so dizzily it twirls
Losing track of what is won
Going backwards is the world
What is left to have begun?
turn the pages to the start
of this tale we'd called an art
look for things we had forgot
reminders of what we once sought
for surely this won't be all for not
because
I need something
I think we all do
I've found nothing
in all we call new
I need something
Something far past due
On the walls of caves
Life transcends the graves
From light of torches in the dark
This fire burns of that same spark
Ablaze
I see the forms
Amazed
by primal storms
Dazed
by civilized reform
Hazed
by efforts to conform
Crazed
by banalities of the norm
I need something
I think we all do
I've found nothing
in all we call new
I need something
Something far past due
Torch and stone
antiquity remembers
Skin and bone
the mind dismembers
Burning alone
This Phoenix deep within
receives the spark to burn again
The fire is the flame
The flame remains the same
A blaze against the dark
Illuminate and leave a mark
