What'll It be?

Making It

It doesn't take much
  to make the most
    of things
  and only a little more
    to make many cheer
  a touch more
    here & there
  and they might even
remember it later
  or forget something else

It takes a whole lot more
  to terrify/amaze them
  Even more
    to teach them
More still
  to effect them
and something far beyond this
  to reach them

but
To even approach
  anything resembling
  something of your own
takes nearly everything you've got
and to possess something
    as your own
takes all you've ever had
and to even glimpse
    what you would truly wish to see
Takes all you'll ever have
  and more
   and it too will be taken
     as part of its cost

and when you see it (if you do)
  the others will not
   for they will have become
     further from you
      than you ever were from what you sought
that is just the nature of such distances
  of such travels
  of such pursuits
  of such arrivals
  of such divinity

but if another should
  see it too
beware of them
and Beware of You
  for such things
    are rare
    and rarer still
      to accommodate in twos

but don't despair
  if you find yourself alone
    for finding this
      is finding home

and as for love
  I cannot say
    perhaps it comes
    along this way
       or somewhere else
       or some other way
       or later on
